Motivational Monday: Don’t Miss It

Happy Monday, friends! I can’t believe it’s November already–again, where did the time go? It almost feels like I ask this same question for every “new month” post, but seriously, I just can’t wrap my head around these passing days. As I’m writing this, it’s nearly 5:00pm, and it’s pitch black outside. Granted, much of this is because we set our clocks back yesterday, but still, staring outside my window depicts oh so clearly the going and coming of the day. You open your eyes, wipe the sleepiness away, and start the day only to blink again and see that it has all flown by right before your very eyes, almost instantaneously. I don’t mean to dwell, but I just can’t shake how surreal this is…how fleeting this all is.

Believe it or not, we’re just 16 days away from Thanksgiving, 47 days away from Christmas, and 54 days away from ringing in a new year. Time is a funny thing, and it moves whether we want it to or not–which is kind of scary. It’s also a nice reminder to cherish these moments, to relish in circumstances and instances that may or may not feel meaningful. So, as we begin this first full week of November, I encourage you to make a list, take a mental (or physical) picture, capture these moments, live in these moments, and enjoy what comes your way (good or bad). You’ll laugh, you’ll love, you’ll cry, you’ll learn, and it’s all okay. Lean in and live, because, as Ferris Bueller once said, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it.”

Don’t miss it.
