Kermit’s Cup of Tea: Friday Findings

img_4043Happy Friday, friends! We are just ONEEEEEEEE week away from winter break. Am I the only one crawling towards the finish line? Between studying, writing, and so many other commitments, I know we’re all looking forward to a nice, long break from school. Hopefully, this week’s Friday Findings will help you power through.

Favorite Find: 2017 Blessed Is She Liturgical Planner
One of my favorite things to do at the start of each school year is to buy new school supplies, especially stationary. I’m a big fan of color and patterns. The more polka dots, stripes, chevron, and gingham prints, the better! This is one way I stay organized and motivated, but when I really need to keep track of major deadlines and a host of obligations, I reach for my trusted planner. Sometimes I move back and forth between the Erin Condren Life Planner and Éccolo Daily Planner, but I’ve recently fallen in love with the 2017 Liturgical Calendar and Daily Planner by an organization called Blessed Is She. I first discovered the company this summer when I took a calligraphy class hosted by the AMAZINGLY TALENTED Erica Tighe, who is also the calendar’s designer. It’s the perfect size and has so many sections from the standard “To Do’s” and “Weekly Goals” to more unique ones like “Prayer Intentions” and “Daily Gratitude.” It’s planners like this one that force us to be more thoughtful and reflective, which we could all do more of during our super busy days. They’re currently sold out (for the third time this year), but be sure to check back at to order your copy!

Honorable Mention: This is Us Star on Ellen
If you’re not watching NBC’s This Is Us (9/8c), you must be living under a rock. It is easily one of the best shows on television. The acting is fantastic, writing is brilliant, and content is so touching you’ll need to grab a box of tissues just to make it through each episode. This week was the final episode before its winter break–don’t worry, it returns January 10th. To promote the NBC hit, series star Milo Ventimiglia (yes, Jess from Gilmore Girls fame #teamjess) stopped by Ellen to talk shop and reenact one of the most touching scenes from the season. Check it out, and be sure to catch up before it returns next month!

Honorable Mention: Bruno Mars at the Victoria Secret Fashion Show
On the first Kermit Says… Tuesday Tunesday, I shared Bruno Mars’ music video for 24K Magic. At that time, his album wasn’t available, but since it dropped on November 18th, it’s literally been the only thing I’ve been listening to (well, that and the Hamilton soundtrack). If you haven’t done so, you HAVE TO download it immediately. From start to finish, it is a fun, funky album. A few personal favorites include “That’s What I Like,” “Versace On the Floor,” Calling All My Lovelies,” “Finesse,” and, well…the entire album. Give it a listen. I promise you won’t be disappointed!
